We can’t make a list of our favorite Black children and family’s music artists without first mentioning Ella Jenkins, “The First Lady of Children’s Folk Song.” Ella is an emblematic musician who has been performing and inspiring generations for over 50 years. Culture Queen

Culture Queen is an award-winning performer and master teaching artist, children's musician, author and arts manager, who creates empowering entertainment for children. She produces innovative Black History-themed children’s performances, festivals, and professional development programs at schools, libraries, restaurants, malls, theaters and museums across the country.

Jazzy Ash is a singer, educator and author that performs New Orleans-style jazz for children far and wide.

Alphabet Rockers

Alphabet Rockers is a hip-hop children's music collective based in Oakland, California. Their work is focused on education, diversity, and a healthy lifestyle. Their mission is to “mission is to make music that makes change.”

Fyütch is a Grammy-nominated music and social justice artist, educator and content creator. As a social justice musician, he writes songs about the topics of Black history, fatherhood, spirituality, love and positivity.

SaulPaul is a Grammy award nominated rapper and singer/songwriter who writes music with a message. His album, “Be The Change”, was created “to reflect the integrated world our children live in and to make sure everyone feels included.”

Ms. Niki is a Grammy nominated Singer?Songwriter and Music Educator. The lack of black music educators and children’s resources for children of color prompted her to write music and post videos on YouTube.
