Are you ready for an out-of-this-world movement song? 😉 [wink]
If you’ve been following us for a while on Instagram and Facebook, or if you’ve taken our Movement Songs For Kiddos mini-course, then you know that I absolutely LOVE movement songs. They are truly my favorite types of children’s songs because the right movement song, can give children an opportunity to regulate their sensory systems so they’re better prepared for learning, listening, engaging with their peers, and working on their goals. Movement songs are definitely one of my favorite ways to engage kids.
Movement songs can also provide kids an opportunity to regulate their sensory systems. The way I use them and which type of movement song I choose will depend on the sensory needs of the kids I am working with. Something else that I love? My Space Preschool & Kindergarten Music Lesson Plan included in our Top 5 Preschool & Kindergarten Music Lesson Plans Bundle. In the video below, you can hear “Rock It While You Rocket” in action, which I shared at the height of many of us teaching our students virtually or working with clients via Telehealth— because it’s not only great for in-person music-making; but I think this is one of the best movement songs to bring when you are facilitating a music group online!
